Christian Beliefs and Values

Christian beliefs and values are demonstrated in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. These are described in the Bible which is the Holy Book that Christians believe and know is the word of God. The Bible details the beliefs that Christians have and teaches the values that they must live by. In describing the life of Jesus Christ, the Holy Bible also shows the example that He taught and modeled for the beliefs and values of Christianity. The Bible also describes the lives of Jesus’ followers and how they followed His example and teachings and, by doing so, the Bible further establishes Christian beliefs and values.

As an example, the Bible states in 1 Corinthians 13:13, “now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” So here we find a number of Christian beliefs and values – faith, hope and love. As it can be seen from this verse, Christians believe that love is the greatest of these virtues. The Bible goes into much depth regarding these with verses that teach us about them. It also recounts stories demonstrating, love, faith, hope and many other Christian beliefs and values.

Other examples of Christian beliefs, spoken of in the Holy Bible, include baptism, salvation, confession, eternity, prayer and more. It is the aim of this website to provide factual information which is based on the Holy Bible regarding the beliefs and values of Christianity. It should also be noted that the Nicean Creed is a statement of faith which all Christians throughout the world hold to be true. It is simply a summary and affirmation of Christian beliefs that are in the Holy Bible. It is our statement of faith and you are encouraged to read it. You are also invited to browse this website and read who Jesus Christ is and what the Bible teaches about Christian values such as “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” and many other Christian values and beliefs.

Christianity is the belief in the Good News. This Good News is that Jesus Christ, being God, came to Earth and taught us the best way to live. He took the punishment for our wrongdoings and has saved us. Jesus is alive and God has given us His Holy Spirit to live within us so that we can have a loving relationship with God, now on Earth, and forever in Heaven.

The Holy Bible

Christians believe that the Holy Bible is inspired by God’s Holy Spirit. The words in the Holy Bible are therefore words by which God speaks to all of us. In it are two Testaments – the Old Testament and the New. The old describes a world before Jesus Christ was born into it and the New, afterwards. In it are messages and accounts which teach, console and encourage.
